Affirmative Action

The history of Affirmative Action can be drawn back to the 1960s with ex-president John F. Kennedy. That was the initial position made about Affirmative Action in historical record. John F. Kennedy presented Executive Order 10925 that developed the Committee on Equal Employment Opportunity, which ensured that the taking of people on jobs was not biased by ethnic look of an individual.

In 1965, President Johnson affirmed that management contractors must exercise fairness in taking people on jobs. That meant that minority groups would have a better opportunity to receive a job based on what their qualifications are. In 1995, President Bill Clinton publicly spoke about setting procedures for Affirmative Action. These procedures were to be put to get rid of any program that uses a quota, provides chances for incompetent persons, and employs overturn discrimination. Later in 2003, The U.S. Supreme Court made verdict supporting universities using Affirmative Action in their curriculums because it encourages multiplicity within the student structure. Although the Supreme Court ruled on this subject, many states are still attempting to dispose of the Affirmative Action program that provides minorities with nearly the same opportunities to be accepted to colleges and universities where another student can have better qualifications then the other student that is applying there. Affirmative Action is not merely another method to use a kind of overturn discrimination on students because some believe they are not having the same opportunities as others. Moreover, Affirmative Action does not resolve the problem of discrimination; it simply intensifies it in colleges all over the world. Affirmative Action must not be removed from school admissions.

Affirmative Action is not overturning discrimination. Affirmative Action offers minority groups opportunities because of who they are. Affirmative action program gives equal chance to those groups who have been methodically denied it. Affirmative action is not the cause of bias, but the means for eliminating the consequences of discrimination. It is assisting in reestablishing racial diversity wherever it is feasible. Although most of people believe that advantages are being carried off from them, they are not. Minority groups are offered chances that are being carried off from others; they are provided with as much opportunity as the majority groups are receiving at present.

Affirmative Action doesn’t resolve the problem of discrimination; it simply augments it in colleges all over the world. Affirmative Action does not mean to lead to problems between races, it merely means to assist. The problem is that when Affirmative Action is employed, it divides population into two groups, majority and minority. That is how troubles began to occur between white and black people, they were separated into groups. These groups are what brings about prejudice between people. Affirmative Action is considered to be an agenda that assists people who do not have the opulence of a fine education. It does not mean to revolve individuals against one another. Affirmative Action is attempting to aid in breaking the blockade between bias in community. The single thing that can assist in breaking this blockade is when everybody finds a happy center for this program so that everyone is pleased and doesn’t have troubles.

Therefore, affirmative action is a good program to maintain. This plan assists minority groups that do not have the happiness of getting a fine education that would get them somewhere in life. The whole program is about giving a chance. It is a great plan to maintain because it will provide hope to persons who have nothing. Sometimes that is all a person necessitates.
