Agatha Christie

Agatha Christie is considered the Queen of the mystery genre. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller of Torquay in Britain. Her father was an American who used to live in Torquay, and her mother was British. Agatha's parents didn't recognize that their daughter would someday become a legendary English writer, composing novels and plays. Her stress was largely on the mystery. She was married twice, and had one daughter from her first husband. Five years before death, Agatha Christie got the title of a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Agatha Christie was one of three children; her siblings were named Fred and Mary. She had been growing in Torquay, Devon, England. Agatha was educated at home by her mother and some teachers and governesses, never going to public school. In her childhood, Agatha created games to play with her brother and sister. Agatha had used to be rather shy as a child, and only felt at ease in the company of her siblings. She communicated her feelings through music. Christie's first husband was Archibald Christie, who participated in WWI battles. Agatha worked as a nurse whilst her spouse was at warfare. During her nursing experiences, she found out about all sorts of drugs available. She later used this new information to compose her novels, plays, and films. Her life with Archibald Christie lasted for twelve years, and they got a divorce in 1926. Nearly after their split Christie vanished for ten days. She was found at a hotel, asserting to suffer from amnesia in the result of emotional strain. Agatha Christie had moved into the hotel under a false name. After a complete memory upturn, Christie insisted that she did suffer amnesia. A number of people were saying that she faked her illness for two reasons. The first was to get vengeance on her ex-husband. The second one was to make advertising for her novels. Her little performance did pay off. Christie's name was publicized all over the tabloids. Some years after her recuperation, she got married to Max Mallowan. She remained her last name for publicity motives. Agatha and Max went on living in Baghdad, Iraq, and she carried on writing.

Agatha Christie applied her life experiences to writing. In her first novel, she used her nursing experience to make the book thrilling. A lot of people in her books die from poisons. Two of the key characters in the majority of Christie's works were Miss Jane Marple, and Hercule Poirot. Christie also composed a lot of plays. "The Mousetrap" is the longest play in history that she composed. She wrote six romance novels to take time out from mystery script. A number of Christie's novels and plays have been made into films and television shows. One of the most well-known TV shows is 'Murder, She Wrote.' Each episode of 'Murder, She Wrote' is based on the book that Christie composed. Agatha was one of the first females to write about mysterious murders. She made a huge step in the literary world. Females at that time were not as recognized in literature as male authors were. Christie got numerous awards over her life for plentiful and great works. In the year of 1954 she got the position of the president of the Detection Club, an association for mystery writers. Moreover, in 1954 Christie also got the first Grand Award ever received by the Mystery Writers of America. For her play "Witness for the Prosecution," Agatha Christie got the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award. In the year of 1956 Christie was also named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire. Later she was made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire. Christie was the first individual to ever receive such a great honor.

To these days, Agatha Christies novels and plays have been translated into numerous languages. She is one of the most well-known women mystery authors of all times, if not the greatest. Millions of prints of her novels and plays, some of which are now movies, are vended and read all over the world. Agatha Christie, the Queen of the mystery genre, died on January 12, 1976, because of natural causes.
