 Arthur Honegger
Arthur Honegger is a famous composer. He was born in Le Havre on March 10, 1892. In his childhood, the father sent Honegger to the Zurich Conservatory. At the music school he was taught conducting, violin, and harmony by Freidrich Hegan, who was, besides many of his other talents, a very eminent musician. With Honegger under his tuition, Hegan at once acknowledged the huge potential of the young man.
At the age of 21, Arthur Honegger went to Paris where he soon after that was accepted to the Paris Conservatory. During that time he met Darius Milhaud, his best friend. Honegger's icons comprised paradoxically German musicians, for example Mozart and particularly Bach, although his musical education consisted of a French environment. The whole group was created under the counseling of Satie, a highly admired musician whom all of them excluding Honegger held above all other musicians. When Arthur Honegger initially started working on the cantata, he had been in partnership with the swiss writer Casar Von Arx. Honegger's composition was enthused by a poem by Von Arx and it was he who was initially composing the libretto for the composition. When Von Arx's spouse died he committed suicide, putting down the libretto incomplete. Honegger instantly discontinued his work on the composition and didn't start again until the early 1950's, almost 12 years afterward.

Voici venir Emmanuel, Il est ne le Divin Enfant, Laudate Dominum, Von Himmel Hoch, ihr Engelein, kommt, and Stille Nacht,Hellige Nacht. All of these songs included Austrian, French, German, English, and each was sung in their national language and contrasted each other. They offered an apparent illustration of Honegger's carnival of both Christmas and of freedom and concern among people of diverse nations.
